No Traps Golf offers the overseas visitor personalized golfing vacations all around Scotland – the wonderful west coast links courses such as Turnberry, Troon and Prestwick, the East Coast challenges of Carnoustie and The Old Course at St Andrews or the splendour of the Highlands with Nairn, Castle Stuart or Royal Dornoch. But with a little bit of advice and guidance the visitor can get more; Machrihanish or Brora, Golspie, Cruden Bay – all absolute diamonds sparkling along some particular part of Scottish coastline. It is the knowledge that can make the difference between a good golfing tour and a great one. David Horne of No Traps Golf gives his background.
“My knowledge of golf came from years of caddying, primarily on the Old Course and Kingsbarns. I also spent some winters caddying at country clubs in Florida, with a view to learning the service levels that Americans are used to. I got into the tour business when a friend asked me to help out by doing some driving for him several years ago now. We still often work together although I am now an independent company.
Year in and year out I have had many clients who have wanted to come back and use me again. As I have worked for many different tour operators and various transport companies this has not always been possible. No traps was formed for these people. I now have the facility to welcome back old friends and take them on tour again.
Needless to say these people or their recommendations take priority but that does not mean that there is not a space available in my calendar. If I personally cannot take you I can place you with a good company that will. Remember I've worked for many and know the good from the bad.
