Ayrshire hotels of real quality, comfort and style just don't come better than this. Set in lovely landscaped grounds, Piersland House Hotel has been at the forefront of providing hospitality and hotel accommodation to Troon and Ayrshire residents and visitors alike for nearly 50 years. The original Piersland Lodge was built as a private residence in 1899 by the renowned Scottish architect William Leiper, and the home for Sir Alexander Walker, grandson of Johnnie Walker, founder of the internationally famous Scotch whisky firm, Johnnie Walker.Piersland House Hotel is a Grade A building. All its original features have been retained as it was built in 1899 by William Leiper, including elaborate wood carvings, leaded window panes, grand stone fireplaces, extensive wood panelling and a Jacobean embroidery frieze worked by the Tapestriere to King George V. The hotel has been sympathetically refurbished over the years in keeping with the building's grace and quality with heavy window drapes, fine wallpapers and fabrics. And, keeping to the whisky theme, each bedroom is based on a malt whisky distillery or family.
